:ponder: This has gone beyond a joke, its 03.20 I am up half an hour because of the nightmare. I have these just about every night except last night and no way am I getting close to a good nights sleep. Now you know what that means - seizure. So guess how many I have had lately, yep, that's right. Now I did tell the doctor several times and the neurologist about this, but to put it simply, I have been told - now do not take offense - I am a nutcase. There is an under lying issue which needs to be tackled, I was told. Now I know its the meds but nobody will listen. Has anybody got a good suggestion so I can get a good nights sleep. Its at the stage I will pay for it. Thanks all.

Thank you so much, It means a lot,

How rude of that doctor. I'm sorry you have such a mean doctor who doesn't understand how the seizures effect you. Have you tried listening to your favorite music while sleeping? I find comfort in praying every night before going to bed. I hope you get well and can sleep better. I'll be praying for you.

Have you ever tried warm milk or non-caffeinated tea before bed? A small glass of milk seems to help me. I am not sure what the weather is like where you are at, but I seem to have more restful sleep when I wear socks to bed, yet keep the room on the cool side.

I am really sorry you are having nightmares and hope one of the above suggestions might help you

I am glad you could post that crap. Get it off yr chest here. I had some bad/scary experiences with docs that are idiots or just don't care about the person they see.

Thanks guys, I think I tried everything, music, glass of milk. I went for a drive last night, never realized how many people are around at that time before. Enjoyed it anyway.

I downloaded an app on my iPad for my daughter. It's a sleep app that brings you into the "zone". If you are interested I can get the name for you. I'd think it would be available for different smart phones, etc. she has never made it to the end of the app.

If you do not mind, I would appreciate that, ever bit helps.

Fedup,
I do hope you get over/through the nightmares & get some much needed sleep.
I used to read a book from the library before I fell asleep-one or two pages that's all it usually took. Very relaxing. Hope you get some sleep soon.

My Son is sleeping like baby since taking Magnesium (calms the brain), so much so I am now taking too, so thought Id share this.

"Insomnia, nightly muscle spasms, waking up throughout the night consistently and ongoing nightmares may all indicate a magnesium deficiency because magnesium directly affects the release of stress hormones."

may be worth looking into :)

Whatever takes, I hope you can get a good night's sleep. Turn off all the lights (or at least start dimming them) a few hours before you want to head to bed -- it can help cue the melatonin in your brain for sleep. Shut off the computer or TV at least an hour before bed too. And let us know if the sleep app Chop mentions helps -- that sound like a great idea.
