Do you take Trileptal (Oxcarbazepine)? If so ask your Dr. about it and salt depletion and about water and salt depletion.
Google that and you might see what I mean.

More water

Are you saying it brings down your sodium levels, because i drink by choice like 99% water.

A known side effect of carbamazepine and oxcarbazepine is hyponatremia, which is low sodium, via water retention.

I think they have gotten away from it now but places like I used to work had salt tablets for people that worked outside (we had dispensers).

I went to see my Primary Care Physician about something totally unrelated. Since he wasn't there I had to see a nurse practitioner. They took some kind of tests and she told me that I drank to MUCH water. I live in Phoenix where it has been over 120 degrees, (seriously no lie), so yes I do drink water. I knew it was because of the oxcarbazepine.
The next time I saw my Dr. he was real embarrassed and concerned about that. I said not to worry I knew but just didn't want to argue with her.

Plain water doesn't always do the trick unless it's been fortified with electrolytes. Consider adding swapping in some juice or coconut water or chicken soup or gatorade (as long as there are no contraindications).

Some medications--Topiramate (Topamax) & Vimpat can cause kidney stones, so it is important to stay hydrated if you take them. I was on 400mg/day of each. I still had breakthrough complex partials. Due to insurance issues, my neuro is trying to lower/take me off my Vimpat, & substitute Zonisamide.

I drink around 2 litres of water a day, more in some instances. I carry electrolyte tablets in my personal first aid kit for use if need be. I can say that water really helps me because of certain side effects to my meds, if I go too long without drinking water, I get severe pains in my stomach as if it's eating itself. During my hockey matches, I drink about a litre of water and a litre of Gatorade which helps
