Another one of my non-drug theories :) I just wonder if increase in weight has something to do -directly or indirectly- with seizures.......The only thing I've changed since high school was about 40 pounds. Granted, I still hold my knowledge about food preservatives, aspartame, and such stuff we started using more frequently a few years before, (we didn't have the huge garden after we ended up living in the city) causing an increase in them, but I'm pondering the idea that weight has something to do with it -for whatever unstudied reason. Anyone else think back and notice an increase in seizures or the severity thereof after gaining weight?
(Hmmm.....maybe this is one thing Pfizer and Merck would allow this to be looked at...it may increase sales of hydroxicut, etc.) *wiggles eyebrows*
-Yes, I know they don't manufacture that name....just being cute :) I do wonder about the chance of them giving in a little with that reasoning though!

For me weight doesn't seem to play a role in my seizures. But I could see how it might show up as a factor in some cases -- perhaps as an indication of a dietary imbalance that might lead to malabsorption of nutrients that would in turn affect seizure threshold. For some folks blood sugar can also play a role in triggering seizures, so to the extent that weight issues manifest as blood sugar issues there might be a connection there as well.
