I'm an hour away from my bf unfortunatly. Right now I'm siting here watching 16 & pregnant and just had lunch. I woke up really tired this morning which usually means I had activity. My doctor was in this mrning, but he didn't want to wake me so hoping he stops in later to let me know whats going on. I miss my bf and his kids lol.

Just found out I had 4 episdes last night. They drew blood thisnmorning to check my prolactin levels. But keeping me the extra night tonight...so will they keep me again if I have more?

He said i had a lot of activity last night but not a lot of eeg change. So keepng me to get more information. But he said if i have no activity or activity but little change he wants to take me off my meds. But they have been working. I'm scared f he takes me off them i gonna start having them really bad again.

usually takes a little bit for the meds to work off your systems, now if you were drinking some green tea something, then you might have a party

Well since saturday i've been down to one then none yesterday or today...i don't like this. What f the activity just isn't in the area they are watching? Oy.

I had a week long video eeg, no meds, very uncomfortable in the hospitable. No seizure the entire time i was there. Got cleaned up and and went through the discharge process, and we know the process that can be. While walking down the hallway to leave I had one of the worse grand mals I had ever suffered in my entire life, I just happened to have the luck I was already in the hospital. ended up spending an extra few days in the hospital, you can imagine how happy I was after getting excited for a club sandwich and a nap in my own bed. Good luck dear.

STB Mommy, I was in the hospital 5 days. Hang in there. We know you'll make it. After all, you had seizures already, and please remember you are in the wing of the hospital that specializes in taking care of people with epilepsy. Since you are completely off your medications, and if your head's been "mummified", they've (your neuro & the EEG techs) most likely mapped out the areas of your brain they want to observe on your EEG. Oh wait, I'll be back in 30 minutes to explain more...I've got to eat a late dinner. I promise I'll be back, though.

But he said if i have no activity or activity but little change he wants to take me off my meds. But they have been working. I'm scared f he takes me off them i gonna start having them really bad again.
I'm like a broken record about this, but it's important: A negative EEG doesn't rule out epilepsy. EEG technology is limited and can't always catch seizure activity that is transient, or that occurs in the areas of the brain that the sensors don't cover. If you have epilepsy symptoms, and those symptoms have responded to anti-seizure meds, then your neuro should weigh that much more heavily than the EEG results. Make sure your neurologist knows how you feel.

didn't mean to worry you. just as always, there are horror stories here. :-) but on the bright side. you are already in the hospital, and they are happy to help. ASK FOR A FRUIT CUP!!!

Soon To Be Mommy: Hi, Again. Nakamova's right. Let your neurologist know how you feel. I'll visit with you again tomorrow. Take care & be well for the night, STBMommy. :~)

How are you feeling despite the seizures, Mommy? How are the hospital meals, how's the pediatric unit? I know you may be tired, so I'll let you rest. ;-)

I get released today. He is taking me off my meds, but if the seizures increase again I'm supposed to c call. I have a follw up tuesday. He thinks they are non epileptic, but if thats the case why was keppra working. My seizures were cut down by at least half while on keppra.

So, is your neurologist keeping you unmedicated until Tuesday, Mommy? If so, make sure to keep a seizure diary ( a piece of paper, or notebook where you can record the date, time & what occurred during the seizure-- if you can remember it starting, ask your bf if he can help you by telling you what happens during it. This helpful for your neuro to help him/her determine what type of seizures you have ). I'm quite surprised your neuro said all those episodes you had in hospital were nom-epileptic...If you still have seizures later today & over the weekend, & your neuro still tells you they're not, I'd look into getting a second opinion.
Also, I hope your bf or someone else will be picking you up from the hospital, because it may not be safe to drive just yet. Now, I hope you have a comfy rest at home with your family soon. Take care. :-) ~Ann

I am nt allowed to drive because of my seizures. My bfs mom is picking me up this evening. I wilk definitely keep a diary with my bfs help of course. So I get to come back friday maybe after he looks over the eeg he will actually find something. He said there was change with my staring spells, but a normal background...whatever that means.

It is so cool that you're getting this looked into (via eeg) . And I am glad to hear that you have support. It sounds like the bf and his mom! that is great. best of luck.
