I was sitting down and I wasn't really doing anything other than just kinda resting after work and suddenly my head/scalp got SUPER tingly and so did my cheeks and then I felt really floaty afterward. It was like I was normal one minute and then the next minute I felt like it was all tingles and then my head started to hurt after about five minutes (give or take because I was still trying to figure out what was going on) and I felt weird. I felt super strange and weirdly, weirdly out of sorts but not scared? Just like "oh, this is weird, this is interesting" but I wasn't really questioning anything. I don't really know what happened? I'm not sure if I should call my neuro doc and bother them again or if I should leave them alone since I have my 48 hr ambulatory EEG starting tomorrow.

What you describe sounds like it could be a simple partial seizure. Make a note of what happened and when -- it may be useful to your neuro, and it's good for you to keep a diary of your symptoms too.

I've been told to do that, I just haven't been keeping up lately due to the EEG (I figured that'd be my journal for now). I'll get back on it for now. I go through days where my fingertips are numb and tingling too and sometimes my neck is but I think that's my medication too. I've read too many things about my medication to know whether it's the numbness from that or a seizure. Do you think they're going to want to up my medications or anything if I'm still having them or are they going to add in a medication or switch it? I'm kind of worried because I'm looking at having to come off my dad's insurance (turning 26) and going onto either government insurance or work insurance through the restaurant where I work. I'm not sure which is better, I need to get my dad to go over it with me.

It depends if the symptoms are intolerable or disruptive for you, or if they seem to be escalating. If the tingling is minor or infrequent, then you might be able to stay put at your current dose. Let your neuro know though -- even if it's a medication side effect it might be relevant. For instance, if you're on Topomax and it's causing tingling, it could be a sign that your vitamin D and calcium levels are low, and you need to supplement them.

I just worry about work, especially with the one I had on Friday. It was so bizarre and the aftermath lasted for what felt like forever. If I have one of those at work I could lose my job, potentially hurting myself very badly or someone else. Same with at work. I do take a multi-vitamin so I can look into upping my calcium intake and vitamin D as well to see if that takes care of it. Sometimes they seem to be escalating but then other days I hardly notice it at all. My memory is pretty awful but I want to say that's only half related to the medication.

This is similar to what happens to me during an aura or partial seizure.

My lips might tingle, I'll get light headed or dizzy and the room that I'm in just won't feel right. Everyone might do different things during them though.

Sometimes after one of these I'll loose consciousness and might stare, talk weird or do other things. Everyone might do different things during these though too. If I loose consciousness I usually won't remember if any of these things happened before I lost consciousness though.

Defiantly keep a diary of when and what happened during them so that you are able to tell the dr an it will help him understand things better.

Try to get as much done while you are on your dad's insurance. You might be able to figure out which insurance would be better to go to after that.

I don't remember if I did anything weird, I need to remember to tell my mom to keep notice of if I do anything exceptionally weird (I already act weird). She told me to do so and I forgot (of course). My diary/journal thing comes with me just about every place I go and I'll text things to myself too.

I also have migraines but nothing showed up on the MRI, CT scan, or the first EEG. So I'm waiting for the results on my newest EEG which was the ambulatory EEG. It's still pretty expensive. I'm looking at well over 1,000$ already between the ER trip on Friday and this second EEG. The first one was about 500$. My insurance isn't all that helpful when it comes to paying for stuff anymore.

Do you ever get random spells where things just don't feel quite right? Not quite dizzy spells but near enough that they could qualify as dizzy spells? I eat enough so it's not from lack of food (I eat at least three meals a day (meaning I generally eat more, especially given that I workout)). I also went over my multivitamin and protein powder that I take in the morning with my breakfast (veggie/fruit smoothies) and I get 100% of my DV in calcium and vitamin D along with an added Calcium supplement that has vitamin D in it every other day (there's osteoporosis in the family, trying to circumvent that). I'm trying to see if I'm not covering enough of my bases, so far it looks like it. I take my meds at 12 hour intervals like I'm supposed to and I'm always on time. So I'm not sure. So frustrating! >(

I understand what you're talking about Sassi, I get those tingly feelings too. My mum can actually see a change in my lips, she says they look redder and fuller, and I feel them tingle. Best of luck with your scans.

Tingly sensations sound like nerves acting wonky. It's what I'm currently experiencing in my foot thanks to the sciatic nerve being pinched. In your case though, it's most likely related to a seizure (esp. with the headache immediately afterwards). The strange and weirdly sensation might be indicative of seizure activity in the temporal lobe.

Definitely make note of experiences like this and let your doctor know.
