I have my 24hr EEG sleep deprivation tomorrow and I was just wondering what everyone has done to stay awake for theirs?
Any cool tips?

Oh yes, this can actually be fun. Not sure if you're staying up alone or have a hubby that can take the next day off and stay up with you (someone should as with seizures you shouldn't drive after that lack of sleep). So...
-rent action-packed movies or thrillers that will help keep you focused
-get a bunch of movie-night goodies and go to town (make a bunch of popcorn or nachos and cheese, and for around 2am something sweet like chocolate cake)
-after you've had your normal dinner (hey order chinese!) and get into your movies, make a pot of coffee (we usually make one for around nine o'clock, and then another around one or two - depends when your eeg is when to stagger it)... and hehe there's nothing like coffee and chocolate cake to have you going in the wee hours!!
(if your appt is really early, consider decaf past say three or four. personally i just love drinking coffee so decaf that late still does the trick to keep me interested/awake).
-if you want to take a break from movies, play cards or board games, keeps your mind going.
Now, if your guy can't do it with you, see if a girlfriend can do a sleepover. All the above is just as fun - and you can do girly movies!! A girl's night with mushy movies, junk food and coffee sessions... I need say no more!

-If you have to go it alone all this is fun too, and, it's a good chance to get some cleaning done (that dusting you've been avoiding, scrubbin down the ol' bathroom... whatever you don't want to deal with day to day... it helps the time go fast).

All of the above sounds good. But make sure you don't have any caffeine for at least eight hours before the EEG -- that way your brain will be more likely to slip into the state that might show abnormal brain waves.

Hence the decaf. If your appt's at 10am you're good til 2, or if it's early such as 7am like my first one, the pot we made around 9 was it for regular coffee.

Decaf still has some caffeine in it...

Thanks guys for the tips! I did have to stay up alone....but my hubbie and I went for a walk and got some junk food and after midnight I was on my own but i watched tv, movies, computer and did some crafts and I made it. I had a couple of long blinks sitting up but I don't think they lasted very long.
I didn't have the heart to clean. I probably should have though! My house sure could use it!
We'll see what the results are in a month or so.
