Seems like no recent discussion on this topic. Anyway, my medical ID bracelet broke and I want to replace it. I'm wondering what to engrave, however. I'll naturally put epilepsy and maybe "Card with more information in wallet." That's probably enough.

But the thing I would really like to communicate is to watch, but just to be casual and don't get all excited or try to hold me down. I don't deal well with a lot of attention and multiple stimuli and would like to avoid that. I don't have grand mal seizures. I have complex partial seizures where it's not obvious I'm having a seizure but I have trouble saying anything intelligible and do some shaking and arm jerks. And sometimes I have blank spots in my vision where I'll run into things.

I would like this information to be on the back of the bracelet, but I guess I have to go with what's available.

Do you have an iPhone? If so then you could have more info on your phone than on a MedicAlert bracelet. I have both. I had a sezuire several years ago and they saw that I had an iPhone that has an app for Medical ID. They saw right away what my meds and other info; who to contact, etc.

Hi BillK,

I had epilepsy put on my bracelet with a phone number to call in case I had a seizure.
If you want to you could also put down the type of seizure you have and that would be helpful if there ever was a emergency. Here's wishing you only the best and May God Bless You!

That's a good idea - I can put down the type of seizure and perhaps some information about it not being an emergency unless it lasts five minutes, or something.

I have an android but I'll check to see what apps they have on that. Thanks!

Here's what I have on mine -

On one side:
First and last name

On the other side I have the basics that are important:
Epilepsy No MRI
Allergic to Dilantian
VNS Implant

Yes, I'd like to find one where they could also engrave the back. I don't want to be walking around advertising my condition. But I guess if I have it I have it ...

I got my med bracelet in a jewelry store. It's a smaller one and they were able to engrave everything that I wanted on the front and back.
