I met an EEG tech tonight and in the middle of our conversation she mentioned how she usually sees medicated epileptics for EEGs every two years. She was very surprised when I told her it has been seven years since I had my last. I never thought that was long, I trust my doctor to order one when she needs the information. When was your last EEG?

God!!! i have only had the one,and that was at least seventeen years ago, maybe sixteen,i cant really remember,id be lying if i told you an exact year.

But i do remember just been told ,"yes there is signs of epilepsy in your eeg"so that was that was that.On to the long winding, twisting, doubling back road of having epilepsy!!!

I think I've only had 2 regular EEGs & 1 Video EEG in the last 10 years.
I had the 1st regular EEG in May 2002 the day after I started taking seizures again & can't remember when the 2nd EEG was but think it was either 2005 or 2006.
The Video EEG was in November 2010.

Mmmmmm, intresting me and my nureo are gonna have a serious chat!!!

I had a VEEG done in March 2010, and my last EEG was probably close to 4-5 years ago.

I had one between 6 & 9 months ago but before that it'd been over a decade.

LMReggcellent, I'm sure there are many people that need EEGs more frequently than others for various reasons but remember that the people that the techs are going to remember the most are the people who get the most frequent EEGs.

As far as epilepsy is concerned, the EEGs are primarily for diagnostic or pre-surgery purposes. If your seizures are controlled, there's no particular reason to have one done. If you are coming off meds, you might have an EEG done to check for the presence of abnormal brainwaves.
