We just got back from the hospital where my husband, Mike, had 4 stents put in. The specialist truly believes that Mike's seizures are heart-based due to arrhythmias. In fact, they're not seizures but behavior that mimics seizures caused by rapid heart beats followed by slow ones. I think it's called synocope v-tach but Mike doesn't pass out as they all took place while he was asleep.
So time will tell if this is the solution. Mike's arteries were not overly clogged at all, but in light of the seizures, the doctor opened up everything he could - even slight blockages - to get more oxygen to his heart.
Mike's in great spirits.
He's been 4 months without seizure like behavior and is anxious to get his license back. His neurologist is writing a letter and so is his cardiologist. Does Mike have to reapply??? Or do they make their decisions based on what the doctors say? Any advice as to protocol.
