I had a Dr's appointment today and when I suddenly felt like I was going to have a seizure. I told a nurse and 3-5 seconds later I had a seizure.
I was in a Dr's clinic and I could see myself having the seizure.I think it was a complex partial I had.

They started talking about the E/R and I heard one nurse say it lasted about 3 minutes. I really did not want to go the E/R. I did eventually and when I wouldn't let them draw my blood they discharged me.

I knew I took my medicine and I told them I was refractory.
I had my medicine in my purse.:e::agree:

Belinda, very interesting. About a month ago I was at my doctors and I had a seizure there as well as you (simple partial). I told him about it. He was somewhat shocked and semi-froze he asked "here?" Of course my reply was yes and it was very interesting what his next question was, "did you drive?" He has been all worried last few months that even though my license was taken away I will choose to drive anyhow.

One thing I can say for myself, if I would have had a complex partial and he would have wanted me to go to hospital, I certainly would not have. Even if it was a grand mal and I came back to reality quick enough, I would not have gone to hospital. But that is me, I hate the hospital. I hate it! Not that anyone else doesn't...

Maybe there's some sort of liability issues for the doctors?

Any time I have a seizure, I inform my doctor right away. His usual response is "Ok, lets set up an appointment." It would be pretty odd to hear him overreact like you say. Keep in mind, I haven't had a seizure in quite some time.

my neuro wants me to keep him informed of all my seizures.
So yesterday I called his office when for the short time I was in the E/R.
I didn't feel like staying for hours and refused to let them draw my blood, so they discharged me.:agree::woot::clap::agree:
