Hi all. First I have to say that the feeling of connection to you all is GREAT. This is the best thing that has happened to me since I don't know when (finding this site).
Today I saw this amazing clinical psychologist who is also a great man. I met with him and talked and he set me up with a neurofeedback machine that had different types of screens to watch, like a game. At first a human figure climbs stairs as I relax my brain and slides down a slide if i get brain really relaxed. There are charts of numbers fluctuating on the side of the screen monitoring 'neuro activity and stuff" It was wild. I told him I am eager to try BIO-feedback and he said we will and he wants me to also learn to train my brain to relax and be aware of itself when not relaxed. He is a kind man who knows medicare/mainstreem medical society does not want to accept other treatments and so he will take a sliding scale cash payment for around 1/6 what another in town takes. This man is just interested in helping people.
I saw the result of brain relaxing but could not get it to calm down. When the image showed my brain was relaxing, i got a bit excited and it shot back to tense. I will see him next week. And meantime i am exploring the ketogenic diet. I read about it and I eat really health already, but my downfall is sugar. Do I have to give it up? It is super high carb, even if it is all raw honey and such. wow.

That is very awesome you did neurofeedback, interesting stuff. I am curious to see what it's all about.

Oh, it is cool. He put this band on my head like a flashlight thing that picks up brainwaves and you watch on the screen how relaxed/tense your brain is with the hope you can learn to calm it down when a seizure is coming on. It is noninvasive. I recommend it. I will let you know how it goes as this develops

Congrats Janus on trying neurofeedback. I will be very interested to hear how it works out for you.

The ketogenic diet isn't something I would recommend anyone try without some professional guidance. I would suggest looking in to one of the other diets (a pseudo-LGIT works great for my wife) that are easier to experiment with (without professional guidance).

That's super cool! I've seen people post about neurofeedback and didn't really know what it consisted of. It sounds very similar to what the dr used to diagnose my sons ADHD. I'd love learning how to relax my brain.

Yeahhh and graties! Please keep us updated as I am interested and looking into it.

Thank you Bernard. That diet of LGIT sounds great for me. I love that you put that great link right on there, i am saving it.

Janus, definitely let us know how the nfb goes and how it makes you feel in general. I would love to try it one of these days.
