I'm hoping that by this time tomorrow we'll be celebrating 3 DAYS without a seizure - but, sadly, no candy (Keto diet)

Hopefully you'll get your celebration. I'm one of the lucky ones, I never had to do a diet alteration because they found the medication that worked and the right dosage for it before I had any more seizures so sometimes I forget about the keto diet.:paperbag:

Or...lots of yummy whipped cream??? Or cheesecake??? Or cheeseballs???

We're just 5 hours away from a historical 3 days ....crossing my fingers!!!

Hurray ---- we made it -- 3 days without a seizure!!! (now 3 1/2) First time since August we've gone that long.

We celebrated with whipped cream for breakfast and went down to the mall to play in the ball pit.

You know you have epilepsy if everyone in your complex thinks your the crazy lady because you go into the laundry room to do Laundry ,forget why your'e in there except to tell your whole life story to somebody who remembers me but I have know idea who they are. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!

I've done that in my old college dorm! people thought I was really shy until I would find myself standing outside a classroom with no idea why I was there or where I was going!

it's 2013 right? I was in a coma for a year right? everything has been Tivo'd, everything I'm still living - all a part of a Truman Show game right?

You see your cousin approaching from the corner of ypur eye with one of those stupid parade light spinny toys and your first reaction is to shield your eyes and be like "woah what is that?!?!" QUOTE]

Ha ha! Amazing how much "innocent" stuff in our ordinary environment can trigger those photsensitive seizures.

haha he didn't know, he's 6 and we don't spend too much time together. thankfully he was understanding of the terms "don't spin that around Victoria or she will get VERY VERY SICK " and accepted a plain old glowstick. Is your son photosensitive?

Ironic thing is before I had E (seizures started at age 12, diagnosed officially at age 16) I LOVED LOVED LOVED those things and threw a fit at every stand we passed til my parents bought me one :roflmao: now they literally make me sick.

You know you have Epilepsy when the most exciting thing you've gotten to do on vacation is take a bath alone (with door unlocked and parents a shout away but hey, take what you can get!)

you know you have epilepsy when you get you used to not unlocking the bathroom door in public places

Yep, he's photosensitive now -- he didn't use to be, I think it's just that his seizure threshhold is so low at this point in time, that the least little thing sets him off. So...that's changed life a lot for us. Just walking home from the coffee shop today -- I got really worried because the sun was reflecting off of the car windshields.

Ugh the sun is a big one! The seizure that lead to my diagnosis was triggered by the sun going through the trees (our bus was driving in a wooded area)

when you're brazen enough to tell people you have it to use their compassion to your advantage!
muahahaha!
(no it's not something I do regularly... it's just something that came up and I wanted to)

You know someone in your family has (photosensitive) epilepsy when you've revamped the lighting system in the home. Only muted lighting now permitted-- he fixates on the bright lights, and they also reflect off the shiny tile floors and glass table tops and trigger seizures. Big room downstairs, which used to be an office, had bright overhead lights (round lights set into ceiling) they have now been covered with Japanese lanterns -- looks quite festive!!

........when few weeks ago you finished reading the 1st and 2nd books of a trilogy, now you start reading the 3rd book, which you couldn't wait to read....yet nothing in this story is familiar, you don't know who is who or what is going on, you're lost.....is this the right book you ask yourself? yes it is, you answer.

LOL I gave up after the 4th harry potter for that reason and I didn't know I had E yet! I know all the series of unfortunate events for some reason though.

<<<<-----not compassionate, brazen asshole

somewhat ok with it

wait- you mean I was being an asshole?
it was a pretty funny situation that would probably be considered acceptable considering the circumstances
besides, I was paying for services rendered anyway - "the customer is always right"

you know you have absence seizures when you constantly find a phantom hand either on you or waving in your face out of nowhere! then you realize it belongs to a friend who is trying to make sure you're "there" (obviously not)

bathroom place i go when feel sumit comming

Me too. But I also did it in a swimming pool toilet and decided it would be a good idea to look the door before hand and got jarred up. Apparently they had to let me come to and when I came to I freaked out asking them all how they got into my house....even though I was on holiday hundreds of miles away....well....I got some right funny looks the next day!!!!!
