I get this feeling in my head and all of a sudden (it comes over me no matter what I am doing)that I am fading out and in the meantime I get focally fixed on something, like I am daydreaming and I feel this surge of electricity in my head.. I know this sounds crazy but did you ever hear the sound of a light bulb. Well that is kinda what it feels like when I get a surge of energy in my head for a few seconds and i can't talk I am zone out and I don't know how long. I am just disoriented like I just woke up or something. I always get this surge from time to time during the day but before it happens i get this sick feeling in my stomach and then it happens and it works it way right up to my head. It pisses me off and then I just feel like crying. I hate that feeling. I get a slight headache but then it goes away but I feel like I am going to have another one soon. My head just does not feel right. I feel so irritated now. Half afraid to go to sleep. I have noticed the same feeling in my head just after waking. I have had several noctural seizures where I bit my tongue which my husband noticed. But lately am having more small seizures I think...I guess they are seizures. I took my evening med and I seem ok now but i still feel the funny head is there ready to activate...does this sound familiar to anyone or am I cracking up... is it ever going to stop. Do anyone ever get a cluster of small seizures.

They could be simple partial seizures. Have you mentioned your symptoms to you neuro? He may want to adjust your med dose.

Do you have a seizure after this strange feeling? This feeling you are talking about sounds like what is called an aura. I have a sort of de ja vu feeling before my complex partial seizures. I am out of it and unaware of what I am doing in the post-ictal stage (my seizures last about 30 seconds -5 min). My post ictal stage is about 5-10 min.

i get those exact same symptoms my neurologist calls them non-epileptic events don't believe it for a second he says its something in my head in my case go to psychotherapy.dont believe its the answer but will do as say,but still believe a seizure is a ''seizure''.to go along with my generalized epilepsy.messes with your meds just bad news overall!

I'm not a professional but that is what I get and that is called an Aura.
I feel the feeling slowly coming in the front of my head like a huge dejavu and it swallows me, while it is happening I can hear and see whats happening around me but I can't respond. I get smaller Auras and week or 2 before a seizure comes and then a huge one right before I black out.
Go talk to your doctor/specialist.
On another note, make sure you're getting lots of sleep. I'm affected by how much sleep I'm having.
Good luck, you're not alone:)
Lauren

I used to think I was crazy and it's really reassuring to hear someone else also explain their Aura like a dejavu... I'm not crazy yaaay! :)

sounds like what i get when my blood oxygen gets low and if i wasnt on meds thered be a sezuire following from the body being taxed of O2...i get that way from seep apnea and i believe that more E patients have it then believe it, think about it if you got low oxygen until you seize then of course it feels funny before the sezuire, ever choked? you get the same feeling like you didnt get enough breath and feels the same way, but there is a non E event like doc says where you just feel more comfortable looking into space for a minute, and sometimes that feels good you just wanna stare at the air my wife does this too and shes not epileptic. But check youre oxygen level next time you have this feeling

Hi, I am new to this site and not 100% sure how this works. I experience the same thing you just described almost exactly. I used to get the sensations or "episodes" as I call them, back when I was in the seventh grade. I went to the doctor did extended tests and scans and everything seemed to be normal and they said I would grow out of it. I am now a senior and it's happening again. I decided to Google what I was experiencing and I found this post. You pretty much put what is going on in my head into words. I always have a hard time explaining it because people think I'm just dizzy or lightheaded. This is exactly what is going on and I want to thank you for helping this make better sense.

Mrama, have you seen a neuro about your symptoms? Definitely push to get some answers. If you keep detailed notes about what happens during your episodes and how frequently they happen, that may be helpful to your doctor in making a diagnosis.

Also, welcome to CWE!

Mrama, many of us have different descriptions. None of our symptoms are exactly the same, but you if you are experiencing something similar, see a specialist if you can.

Dizzy or lightheaded are both words I would use to describe having a seizure. Often times it is hard to come up with words to explain exactly what we may feel.

Huh, I've done this 'zoning out' thing for as long as I can remember. I used to feel like I could control it, like make myself come out of it. It's only ever lasted a few seconds. The long ones are around 20-30 seconds.

But, Lauren, what you just described is exactly what I experienced last week. I had lots of little space out moments. Then on Friday I had a longer/bigger aura, something I could actually identify as such. It was brief, and then about 2 hours later an even bigger one hit me, right before a TC.
