Hello... I am new to this forum, not a troll or anything. Just one simple question. I am being tested for epilepsy and a bunch of other things, I had an hour and a half EEG done Friday of last week, and I am now in the process of the 24 hour EEG. They wrapped my head to prevent anything from falling off, but at times I can notice my head throbbing from it possibly being too tight? I can move my head around normally and everything. Or is it just me not being used to it?

Thanks so much
Brianna

Are you in-patient or out-patient? If the nurse is around, tell her. It may be just a tad too tight. It shouldn't be a health problem, just an irritation, I think. Talk to a health specialist, though.

Well, plenty of us have had those things on for days, so if you need anything, feel free to ask. Or if you just get bored. I lurk when I'm bored. :D

Why have I never experienced anything like this? (THANK GOD) HOLY CRAP THAT'S AWFUL!

I can tolerate MRI's no problem...but EEG's I can barely stand 5 minutes of that crap...I'm like okay first few flashes then I'M DONE! lol

I send you positive electrical vibes :)

Really!? I have to get an MRI done soon... EEGs are nothing for me! I've never had an MRI, so I'm a bit scared but lucky I am getting an open one! Thank you :)

Ehh. MRI? No problem. I actually like closed areas. Staying still is a little tough especially being hyperactive, but when I meditate, I usually have to stay pretty still.

MrE, are you talking about the photosensitive test with the strobe? I can't stand those, but my current doctor doesn't believe in them. Too stressful, and I agree. No doctor has ever successfully triggered a seizure in me.

Ugh. Gives me a headache just thinking of the strobe....

Wait a minute are we talking about the same thing here??? I had a TMJ MRI (with IV) done yesterday...it was 30 minutes long...my jaw was braced open for 6 and clenched down hard for 24...keep in mind I have jaw pain/pressure...I've been having these awful headaches lately and think it's because of my popping/misaligned jaw...TMJ is Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction...

Those open MRI's are a walk in the park...I've had one myself...kind of boring actually...well I mean you just sit there instead of being put in a cryogenic space capsule lol

The EEG I had was the strobe...it makes me sweat and hyperventilate...when I was in Germany I had my first MRI along with a bunch of other tests that I don't remember...this is probably my 10th MRI...luckily enough I got to listen to music (headphones) while having my two recent MRI's done...a luxury I hadn't experienced before lol

you can expect the following:

BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM
BING BING BING BING BING BING BING BING
BROOM BROOM BROOM BROOM BROOM BROOM BROOM BROOM

I've actually made me own little "MRI remix" it's quite fun to sing actually :D

I'm also going to be having a hearing and vision test done as it's all connected to what I'm experiencing...don't worry everything will be fine...just remember to breeeathe ;)

Yes sir...I am indeed talking about the strobe of death...

oh yes... that strobe KILLED me!!! But, that didn't last too long. I had to have the EEG done at the doctor's and sit still doing nothing I was SO bored

and you can't even sing or whistle...

I have never had a seizure during a 24 hour EEG.
But I have ALWAYS without fail had one the previous morning to when they are removed.

Hmmm...an EEG machine that cures seizures :ponder:

Mine is a special model...not made by humans...that's all I can say 8)

I had a 48 hour one, the glued it to my head and said have fun! Hurt like hell. Then the glue didn't come out for a couple of days. I would've killed for tape!

There was glue under that tape. ;)

Oh you poor thing!! Okay, that's way worse than just glue. My hats off to you lol. How much hair did you lose?

This is thick Italian hair on greasy Italian scalp. I usually have to use glue to get the wanted styling with the hair. Minimal, I'm sure. :)

This picture was taken before a 72 hour EEG, AKA "Hell Weekend."

This is when we found out my RBD was actually the aura. It is interesting seeing yourself on camera doing situps in bed. Explains these ab-muscles.... :roflmao:
