Hi all,

Does anyone know of any online resources covering recommended food regimens for adult epileptics which may help to keep the seizure threshold high?

I see much info referring to kids diets including the Ketogenic diet, yet I am finding very few resources for adults and diet.

The only site I have found is seizurethreshold.com which is very helpful but would like to find something more comprehensive with regards to types of foods which may help keep the seizure threshold high.

I guess I did not look hard enough. :ponder: I just found the GARD Diet which has tons of info.

I use the GARD successfully, as do several others here. When you're on Dogtor J's website, be sure and read his other papers. The GARD solves dietary problems for many health issues, not just seizures.
 
Best advice....get rid of anything with aspartame and any other artificial sweeteners in (saccharine etc). Has helped me and my daughter. And get rid of the gluten. Did that for a different reason (my 7 yr old son was diagnosed coeliac) but that has helped as well!
 
My main triggers are anything with soy anything in it(and soy is in EVERYTHING!) and MSG.

Everybody's food sensitivities are unique to them; you need to figure yours out and then be diligent.
