Hi Lonewolf,
There have been many times over the yrs. when I will be having a cup of coffee or tea and I go into a complex partial seizure and I end up spilling the coffee or tea on me and
burning my hand. My neuro has told me that sometimes hot water or anything hot can trigger seizures for some people. I noticed that every once and awhile especially when the hormones are changing that the hot water from the shower hitting my head will trigger seizures for me. You may want to mention this to your neuro to see if there's a connection to heat triggering seizures for you like it does me. The best way to get rid of the pain from a burn is by putting cider vinegar on the area you burnt. I know it sounds weird but it works great. I learned about that yrs. ago after I got 2nd degree burns from being outside swimming and water skiing all day long. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Like I said earlier, my 1st TC was on my way out of the shower. I fell backwards and hit the hot water, and lay there long enough to suffer 2nd and 3rd degree burns. I had been having Cps prior to the, but the dr. did not make the correct diagnosis. There was NO connection for me, just early time of day.

ONLY ON 1st and 2nd degree burns. NEVER on 3rd degree burns. It will make the wound much worse!
I always drink things, hot or cold, out of cups or glasses with lids on them. Mainly because I'm very good at spilling things even if I'm not having a seizure.
I usually don't cook in anything but the microwave anymore unless there is someone in the house with me. I've almost burned the house down a few times. My husband will hear the smoke alarm go off and find me sitting on the kitchen floor and with smoke pouring out of something.
Hi, Lonewolf.
When it comes to burns, I am a person that you definitely want to talk to. I've burned myself so many times (2nd & 3rd degree) that I no longer go to the ER/hospital. The last time I went there, they actually thought that my family members were abusing me!!
Some members of my family think I should give up hot drinks. They often suggest that I may be falling asleep while holding my tea. I know that isn't the case. The very first time I burned myself is/was proof of this. I had 2 boiled eggs on a plate, & was sitting on my sofa. The next thing I knew, I had an empty plate in my lap and large blisters all over my hands and arms!!
