Has anyone else ever had hallucinations as part of their seizure activity? I'm still new at all this and I know I've had hallucinations on at least 3 different occasions. Has anyone else experienced this? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Cindy

Lots of information for you....

Temporal Lobe Epilepsy as well as Complex
Partial Seizures can trigger this - you can
find more information here as I have posted
links there so you can do some research
and more studying:

Experience Aura / Auras (POLL)

Here's an excerpt from the Aura/Auras,
which is Temporal Lobe Epilepsy (partial):

Somatosensory and special sensory phenomena

o Olfactory and gustatory illusions and hallucinations may occur. Acharya et al found that olfactory auras are associated more commonly with temporal lobe tumors than with other causes of temporal lobe epilepsy.
o Auditory hallucinations consist of a buzzing sound, a voice or voices, or muffling of ambient sounds. This type of aura is more common with neocortical temporal lobe epilepsy than with other types of temporal lobe epilepsy.
o Patients may report distortions of shape, size, and distance of objects.
o These visual illusions are unlike the visual hallucinations associated with occipital lobe seizure in that no formed elementary visual image is noted, such as the visual image of a face that may be seen with seizures arising from the fusiform or the inferior temporal gyrus.

Complex Partial Seizures / Epilepsy (Poll)

I've kind of had them.

before any of my seizures i have a feeling of the deja vu, I get it from seeing something in real life, but it triggers a vision in my mind. Since medication, this is all i get visually, even if i go into seizure mode, I just lose focus, control, etc.

Lately though the visuals have come back. One hit me hard over the weekend, i know that I kept having a visual image / video play out in my mind, but I can never remember what they were. Weird, I know. I don't think that it "replaces" what i see in the world, it's just a VERY vivid mind vision. Hope that makes sense.
