Thank you for your kind words. Today they shut down all school activities where I work and many of the colleges are now shut down and students have to go to school on line. This may be happening at the public school I work at also even though their is no virus yet but 2 people have been
tested for it. I sure know I lost most of my retirement do to the stock market going down hill. Thanks for your time and concern and May

I read/hear recommendations from people to stock up on prescription medications (among other things) in case of supply chain disruptions, quarantines or whatever. I just shake my head. That's not how this (insurance/Rx) works.

I don’t know if it’s the same over there but here when I was getting my meds through my scripts I could only get them certain times depending on the med, the dosage and the qty of tablets in the box/ bottle. Most of the meds was 4-5 weeks but the zonegran was 3-4 weeks as I take more of them and the tegretol is last’s me 2- 3 months. On the box or script it would tell you when you could get your medications and if you needed it earlier to speak to the pharmacist.

I started getting Webster packs done last year where the pharmacy makes my medicine up for me in weekly blister packs. I get them every 2 weeks, makes it easier. When I’m due to see the neuro or dr I go the chemist and double check with them if I’m due for any meds.

I’m not even going to get started on how the corovirus has caused mayhem on the shops. People stockpiling on items, mainly toilet paper and hand sanitizer .
It got to the stage where the supermarkets put limits on how many packs you can buy.

I thought people were exaggerating about panic buying... until i went to the supermarket yesterday to pick up some bits, like loo roll and pasta, and saw that the shelves were almost completely wiped out. I hope those people in their forts of toilet roll with their boxes and boxes of food are happy when the poor and the elderly got to the supermarkets and realised they couldn't even get the basics! Same with freezer food, canned goods, cereal etc. Since i volunteer at the hospital i get updates every day or so about what's happening in our area, so far only one person has been confirmed. Hoping my trip to Bruges doesn't get cancelled next month!

I think people don't know what to do, so buying a lot of TP or whatever up gives a sense of control. But yeah it sucks that it's leaving others without. This kind of thing can bring out the best in people and the worst.

It's crazy here, too. I bought my TP and soap earlier in the weak, but need to go to my pharmacy today to pick up my seizure meds. My mother is in an Assisted Living Home and yesterday they sent out a notice that only those who work there will be allowed in for now. So, I don't know when I will be able to visit her again. She is 86 years of age. Don't know how much longer she has. Almost lost her last year from pneumonia. I guess it is a good thing they are restricting visitors now.

It's very crazy here also. There's no mort TP in the grocery store and the canned goods are wiped out I'm glad I got my groceries
on Monday. Here some people are buying the extra TP to use as masks and I don't think that will work. They need to go outside and
gather up some leaves laying on the ground that will help them and that way there will be TP for everyone. Monday and Tuesday
one school is shutting down to students but the staff still have to come into work. I wish they would drop this I'm getting so tired

I think most people are buying it prepare for our version of 'dooms day' in other words incase they get the virus and are isolated.
Others bought it to resell online on pages like EBay which is just plain stupidity and greed but i belive thats been put a stop a too now.

Originally they were buying the toilet paper in particular by the packets, even having fights in the shops over it. So the supermarkets put limits on how many you can buy, Now the one of the main supermarkets have security guard in front of the toilet paper aisle.

I went shopping last Friday but got the toilet paper the Sunday before as I was running low, glad I did as by last Friday the shopping frenzy was well & truly started. My Dad & I went to 2 shops and no toilet paper and at that stage paper towel was geting low.

There is almost no toilet paper here so my mom did get a good bit of it. We needed hand soap in the bathroom and there was only one brand left on the shelves and it cost a fortune. Some stores are putting a limit on things you can buy two of them being hand soap, and toilet paper now too. Because people were coming out of stores with buggies that they could fit as much in them as they could.

I wonder if I could get any money if I sold the toilet paper on the street?

Schools are closed for two weeks, some for even a month. If people can work from home then they that are asking them to do that. Others my not be able to go to work at all because where they work are closing for the time or have reduced their employers.

What really sucks is that my dad is planning a birthday/retirement party for my mom in 3 weeks. He's been working on it for over a month and he's got everything done - where it's being held, carting, invitations sent out and pretty much everything else. He's afraid he's going to have to cancel it now.

I think we’re going to get to the stage where a lot of the schools will close, a couple of the schools in the city have already been isolated because a student or teacher had it.

My states premier and the health minister is giving updates, the health minister has been telling us what to do to prepare and what precautions to take. There are help lines to find out if you have corona virus and some towns you have medical specialists who come out to your car like a drive through and test you. This is to try to keep the emergency rooms for other emergencies.

Anyway the health minister also advised employers to take steps to get staff to work from home. That’s fine with some jobs but a lot of jobs you can’t. Where I work which is a cabinet maker is a small business, our main machine is broken at the moment which has made it hard as it is. There is no way most of the us can work from home.
At my job there are really only 2 people who could work from home the guy who works out the front with me and the bookeeper.

I found out last night (Fri) that they have shut all schools down in my county until April 12th. I won't have to go in on Monday or Tuesday and then I may have to, to find out what the school district is going to do and if they are going to pay us. If they don't I'm going to have to find another job or maybe retire. As far as the bath tissue the grocery stores are changing there hours around in my area so they have more time to stock things up but the store will be closing earlier. I'm glad I have money saved up and I've bought some grocery cards over this past yr. so if I don't get paid

I thought much the same as you, until Wednesday, all the supermarkets are bought out of everything which to be honest is a bit stupid I think but people are afraid and fearful and it only struck home yesterday just how serious this is going to effect some people.

All schools in Ireland are closed for the next few weeks, churches have closed, you can get mass on live stream or if it broadcasts over the radio not sure about churches in the North of Ireland, Nursing homes are closed, bus and train routes to be affected from Monday. People are afraid, even I am afraid.

It is scary -- Conservative estimates say that, in the U.S., 100 million people will be infected, 5 million will need hospitalization, 2 million will need to be in the ICU, 1 million will require ventilators, 500,000 will die. It's hard to wrap my mind what lies ahead.

On our news yesterday they showed how the main supermarkets had put limits of 1 or 2 items on the main things like soaps, toilet paper, tissues, some staple items but will go harsher if have to. They are doing this as they are trying to be fare and make sure the ones who have trouble getting to shop eg elderly or ones with restrictions can also get what they need.

You saw people getting items and they were still grabbing things 2 of whatever the item was, some were saying well i'm just grabbing 2 of every thing or everyone else is.

I'm sure most people are doing it to prepare for if they have to isolate themselves but I've also called it the domino effect where someone started this whole thing of stocking up on what started here with toilet paper and it followed on.

It seems the same could be happening here after the last few days of people buying out shops, pasta, toilet roll paper tissues and tined food are the main items to go first. A lot of pubs have decided to close as well because people just will not keep a safe distance from one another and instead of paying attention to the sign saying how many are allowed in they bring the children with them and pack the place out and now no one gets a pint.

The one good thing out of all this though is the groups of people who have come together in every community and are putting there telephone numbers in the doors so if you are elderly and need something from the shop or just to talk with you can give them a ring. It has actually amazed me that people have come together like this, considering how rude my experience has been.

I just heard there is a video on social media showing a packed pub in Dublin last night along with the people coming back from cheltenham (horse racing, in England) some people have no consideration for others. Sorry to say it but Cheltenham is one hot spot in England or so we are told.

Earlier this year some events here in Australia were canceled because of the heat and fire and now events have been cancelled because of the corona virus.

With sporting events they’re either cancelling or playing them with no crowds so people just have to watch it on tv.

No St. Patrick's day parades and celebrations are all off, same with all sport here. Mass is the same except you can get it over the internet, radio or television thankfully. There can be no more than 100 people gather inside keeping a distance of 2 meters (6 ft) apart or 500 gathered in a crowd outside.

I always remember St Patrick’s day as it’s also my eldest brothers Chris’ birthday. I asked Mum why she didn’t call him Patrick .

Pretty sure I heard on the news they’re discussing whether to go ahead with Anzac Day events which are at end of April. (April 25th)
