I always remember St Patrick’s day as it’s also my eldest brothers Chris’ birthday. I asked Mum why she didn’t call him Patrick.
Patrick, now that would be a good name or you could always try Oisin.

Everything is being canceled here -- the parade, sporting events, schools, conferences. College students are being given three days to pack all their belongings and get home somehow. Restaurants, theaters and museums are empty (as are supermarket shelves). Airports are packed with long lines of people who have to be tested before they're allowed in (which will probably lead to more infections unfortunately).
If you're already living on the edge, you may be out of luck.
But there are the good samaritans that Fedup mentions -- the people reaching out to their neighbors and volunteering at food banks and shelters and trying to help where they can. And I guess the environment benefits when there are fewer people on the roads. Looking for silver linings...

Me too!! Not only do I have epilepsy, I also have Type 1 Diabetes and the 'experts' keep saying those with diseases like 'Diabetes' should stay home. Very scary time for me. I am paranoid!
My very first seizure in my early 20s was whilst I was suffering from a flu, and since then every time I suffered from a bad cold I was always preparing myself for a horrendous bout of seizures (which would always happen). Here was are now, and I don't have a clue what I'm supposed to do!?

I am very paranoid as well, it seems anybody with epilepsy, hearth condition or cancer ect is in bother. We should do our best to try and put the fear aside and look after ourselves, it is easy say and you might even say stupid but we need to paid attention to all advice while still trying to live a full life and help the less fortunate ones around us.

Some schools are at lock down but i think it wont be too long before the States schools will be in lock down, the school term finishes on 27th March but there's talk that they might start the holidays early.Everything is being canceled here -- the parade, sporting events, schools, conferences. The prime minister had a meeting yesterday has put restrictions on travel , as of Midnight lastnight anyone coming into the country has to self isolate for 2 weeks.
I heard on the news this morning that the main supermarkets are going todedicate a shopping hour in the morning just for elderly & people with disablility so they can get what they need.

One student at a college where I was supposed to speak at this week tested positive for the virus and now the entire campus is being
tested. I'm glad I didn't go. I found out this weekend I may be out of a paycheck until I can go back to work. The school has shut down
until April 12th and they are willing to pay the teachers but not the aides they said we won't be doing anything. Now it's time for me
to look for another job unless my union fights it and wins. I am going to pray for everyone out there that everyone stays well and
that they don't get laid off from their jobs. I wish all of you only the best and May God Bless You!

Just got the word that three people in my neighborhood have symptoms and are under quarantine.

Apparently, they were on public transportation every day right up to when their symptoms started.
Everyone in the neighborhood is offering to drop off supplies for them which is awesome.
God on public transportation I honestly hope everybody is ok, this thing is really worrying for everybody.

Public transportation is the only way I have to go places. But because of this virus, I will not be using it for a LONG time. Fortunately, I can walk to the grocery store and pharmacy.

My local Costco is rationing bottled water and paper products. They sell out before noon on days they actually receive new stock.
I was running errands this morning and stopped there to get a couple of things. I got there a bit early - 9:38am. They don't open until 10am on weekdays, so I was about to leave (wasn't going to wait 20 minutes) before I saw the doors were open and people were going in and out. So I went in. I was shocked to see that they were sold out of raw chicken and pork. They usually have tons of that stuff.

Well things have taken turn for the worst it seems in Ireland according to the news the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said we can expect a 30% increase in cases of the coronavirus every day and we could expect there to be 15,000 cases in the Republic by the end of the month.
Everyone is asked to play their part by taking the following steps. These are:
1. Reduce your social contacts - see only a handful of people in your network
2. Distance yourself two metres from people in shops and supermarkets
3. Stop shaking hands or hugging when you say hello
4. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
5. Wash your hands regularly and practise cough and sneeze hygiene
6. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
7. Check on your vulnerable family members and neighbours
8. Work from home where possible
Further updates are to come within the next two hours.

I'm the same Cint. I walk everywhere anyway but get the bus to work & only time I get a taxi is if the weather isnt very nice or in the winter when I am still at the office & it's starting to get dark.
The buses I get for work usually dont have many people on them and I usually sit at the front so it's easier to just get straight of when the bus gets to my spot.
I dont go to the city anymore for specialists appointinments so don't get trains or buses to the city.
They were saying at this stage they're running public transport but the taxi service that I use has wipes and tissues in all their vehicles for passengers.
Today the governor shut down the schools for 2 wks. if not longer and buses aren't running that much now they cut back the runs
because many people are just staying home. I went to get groceries today and I had to go to 2 different stores because the shelves
were empty and when it came to getting meat the meat dept. was just about empty also. I'm glad I stocked up way before the virus
