Attached is a compilation of EFA Summer Camps. Ages range from 6 – 26, depending upon the camp and its activities. All dates are approximate and the camps should be contacted early for exact dates and application.
Staff includes a neurologist, several nurses, and counselors, all with special training in how to recognize and respond appropriately to seizures. The security of having specially-trained medical personnel available provides a safe environment in which campers can enjoy a variety of socialization activities that promote self-confidence, cooperation, respect for others, maturity and an appreciation of their own abilities.
To be eligible, a child must:
Have a primary diagnosis of epilepsy
Be between the specific ages qualified
Be able to feed, bathe, dress and toilet without assistance
Work well in small groups
Applying to the summer camps early will help avoid disappointment. Enrollment is limited. For further information, contact the summer camps themselves or http://epilepsytalk.com/2011/02/11/epilepsy-summer-camps/
