Not that I am happy to have epilepsy but I am SO HAPPY to KNOW FOR SURE that it's that and can start on meds soon, hope I can get rid of those seizures, and maybe one day I will actually get a driver's license! I know, one thing at a time... ;)

I had heard about this hospital I went to in Dianalund that they were experts but I didn't want to hope too much because of previous experience with doctors. I wouldn't have imagined, not even if I had let myself hope, to be understood in that way. I was holdning back a little, scared of sounding too weird. Everytime I said a new thing she asked me "is it a feeling like this or that?" and I would say "YES, exactly!" thinking "how did she know?" Maybe I wasn't such a difficult case after all? So I relaxed and told her all I could think of.

She said it really is epilepsy, no doubt, and I will stay at their hospital for a couple of weeks in January to know all they can figure out about the best ways to help me. Which meds will work better, how many seizures do I actually have that I or my husband don't notice and so on. I can't believe this is really happening after all these years!

Thank you for reading through. :)

I can understand the relief you are experiencing. Congratulations! What led to the confirmation? A video EEG?

So happy to read that you're getting somewhere! The journey to getting answers is often a twisted path! Keep us posted!

Congrats! Seems odd, but I know how much relief you must feel. Unfortunately I am still on the road of diagnosis. Have been for 2 years, hopefully not too much longer.

There was something showing on all my EEG's and my strange feelings during the seizures and my husband's description left no doubt. I think it also helped that my dad saw me having a seizure and he said my eyes were like something he had only seen on epilepsy patients. He used to work in Dianalund. Yes I am very relieved now and I think I should have come to this hospital years ago!

It is good to know what is going on with your body. Good to hear you know.

Congratulations! It sounds like you are in good hands, and can start the new year with a treatment plan.

Looking forward to reading how you are doing in the hospital, and how your treatment plan changes. Keep us posted!

I understand. After 3 1/2 years I saw a neuro in October that told me I have been having partial seizures. Already the medication is stating to work. She suggested I go into the hospital for awhile but I'd prefer to try the trial course of medicine and see if that helps first. I run a one woman office and for me to take a week or two off is really a hardship for my employer.
