anti-epileptic drugs are the drugs that can help stop or lessen epileptic seizures (such as keppra), often called anti-convulsant drugs.
All of them are associated with side-effects but everyone reacts differently to them. Some people get extreme side-effects on certain meds, others get no side-effects on the same meds.
Well, like Eric said, all meds can affect everyone differently. For example some people have problems with Keppra, whereas I barely get any side effects from it. It's the same for all medications. There can be a lot of trial and error sometimes to find the right ones.
So when it comes to side effects there can be people who will take topamax or zonegran but won't experience ANY congnitive effects?? I tought it something that isn't avoidable since it effects the area of the brain which involves thinking and memory
Did your fatigue subsided over time?
How about some wierd sensation in the hands, did you ever felt something like that?
My different med combos have all produced diff side effects-trileptal causing massive headaches last year but now that weve added the zonergran the headaches are gone and so far only one seizure. No appetite and food literally makes me sick like i cant force it down my throat and I sure have gotten dumber.my epi just wants the seizures GONE and then we will fine tune the meds later. So far everything I tried seems to give me a rash(lamictal) or wears off after about 4 months so thats what i thought honeymoon stage was.
