yeah i have after 3 attempts of trying to convince him he actually agreed with me that im on wrong meds. he wrote 2 my neuroligist saying it was urgent etc, that tuk 3 weeks to get to my neuroligist, now the nearest appointment isnt until december isnt that shocking? i didnt get anything explained to me about side affects or nothing, my neuroligist was suprised when i went in complain bout the side affects. every1 i have spoke to said the doc or neuroligist explained bout the side afects to them , i havent even had a proper diagnoses, my eeg andf brain scan all came vack normal, accordinbg to my doc there is no other test they can do they just got to take my word that i was having seizures, how silly is that?

no worries am happy to help ya the best way i can, we are all going through the same things. do you happen to know if theres any other test that can be done apart from eeg and brain scan?

As far as i know these are the tests they do to confirm epilepsy/seizures. I also know that if you can control your emotions you will be able to reduce the number of seizures. Meditating helps to calm ones innerself and controls the triggers that lead to a seizure. With my son I know exactly what the triggers are but it is difficult to control most of the time as he is not able to calm himself down or understand the consequences of getting excited. Try the meditation, maintain a daily routine and adjust your diet. You will still need the meds but will feel better for longer. I often give him a masage and have seen the results. try it... also visit Patrick Holfords site.. he maintains food is better than meds.

well i have adjusted my diet am eating a lot healthier but its hard 2 stablise my emotions wen i see strands of my hair comingb out with the keppra, both them test came back normal which is what ib dont understand, should it show if theres any sign of epilepsy or not? am confused thats all.

It's not unusual for the tests to come back negative. Many people with epilepsy (including many on this site) never have a positive EEG. Sometimes seizures are too transient, or occur too deep in the brain to show up on the test.

Arrange with your GP to get you admitted to a hospital. Most specialists make time once a patient is admitted. This way you can get off Kepra sooner. Take care of your hair ... use special indian hail oils and shampoos that prevent hair loss. DON'T STRESS. People lose hair just by stressing even if they are perfectly healty otherwise. Pamper yourself and you will see the difference. enjoy the wkend

i have asked the doctor as far as hes concerned hes done his bit, av tried shamppo bar from lush it promotes hair growth, am busy trying alpecin hair loss shampoo its meant to be for men but who knows, i just want to come off the keppra, and thank u hope u enjoy it to, am always hear if ya want advice or simply want sumone 2 chat to.

Its all trial and error with the meds and you have to bear with it. Fortunately you are able to know how the meds affect you, good or bad. Change your dr. As for your hair, apart from shampoos when you are not going out ,massage hair oil into your scalp as often as you can and leave overnight, wash the next day. this would strengthen your hair and encourage new growth. coconut and olive oil combination works if you are unable to get anything specific. Be patient .. these things take time to work.

Av eventually getten an appointment to see my neuroligist. As they dont believe my meda are the cause if my hair loss but i know it is. So they are goung to do more test. So hooefully it will get sorted. Like ya say i just gota wait as these things take time. But thanx for ya advice.

welcome to chat anytime. you need to be pessistant with your dr re your condition.. very often they generalise and each case is different.. so they need to do what is required to find out all they can to help you... trust me i have been to enough of them and know all about their attitude and how much they know. make the most of your visit. write down your questions for the dr.. we often forget... as we get overwelmed by all the med terminology.hope it goes well.

Thank you. Im gonna be persistant because im sick of them fobbin me off now. Yeah av git the questions all written diwn to ask. Al get sorted one way ir another.

For those of you who have children on Keppra, how much do they take, and do you have to get regular blood work and does it often have to be increased?
My son is taking Keppra 2x per day, 750 in the AM and 500 PM, I am told this is a low dose, but it is up substantially from when we started.
