Hi Everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with this situation...
One of my 5 year old twins has had epilepsy for 1 year now. He is on Trileptal and takes B6 and magnesium (Thanks to all of you who suggested I try this and told me your own stories. Our Dr. never mentioned this). The combo of meds and vitamins greatly reduced his seizures. He still had seizures about 4 times a week, only in the morning, within two hours of waking up.
Three weeks ago I took him for his blood draw. For the first time I took him in the morning, rather than the afternoon. All he had to eat was cereal. The results were that his sodium level was low. After reading that Trileptal reduces the sodium level in a person's body, I started giving him 1/4 cup organic veg. broth first thing in the morning with his medicine.
For two weeks he has been seizure free and less tired. Has anyone else had a sodium level deficiency along with seizures? Does anyone know of anything I should be aware of by giving my child broth every morning? The Dr. says it's okay, but I've learned more from this forum than I have from the Dr.
Thank you!
