See the thing that worries me the most is that the they aren't allowed to test the vaccine on children, so no-one knows what the effects will be, basically if I let him have the vaccine, HE will be the guinea-pig. Not to sure about that....

Dr Mercola and Dr Blaylock both suggest to really do your research on the subject before making your decision. They suggest Vit D and Vit C to keep the immune system strong.

Hi Dutch Mom,

It makes more sense not to go the doctor. In the USA, we are told to go to the doctor and wear surgical masks. However, that is why it is spreading so much here. At the doctor's office there are a lot of other people waiting to see the doctor, same at the ER.

I am thinking of not getting the tamiflu shot for the same reasons you mentioned.

It has mutaded to the turkey's now. They are getting it.

I am glad your children are not as sick as I thought they were. You will be immune to the virus in the winter. I am hoping to get it this summer. In the USA, children are in the high risk group, along with the elderly. Here everyone is in a panic about it. You have calmed me down.

You have put it in perservite. Europe is handling it better than in the USA.

You are all welcome to come to the Creative Writing Page. We are just talking now.

Here are some of Health.com’s better suggestions:

* Fight the flu with vitamin D. 1,500 to 2,000 I.U. of vitamin D not only bolsters the immune system but also may help prevent infection. (PLEASE NOTE: this is NOT my recommendation, but abstracted from the article on Health.com. I believe most adults need 5,000-8,000 units of vitamin D per day)

* Wash your hands. The flu virus can live for up to 72 hours on surfaces. That makes hand-washing the most effective daily defense. Wash briskly with soap and water for 30 seconds.

* Cover up. Bandage all cuts, even paper cuts and blisters.

* Stay clean at the hospital. If you’re visiting a hospital, wash yourself and your clothes right after. Don’t use bar soap in any hospital bathroom or set your purse on the floor. And researchers recently found that one in three stethoscopes used by emergency-medical-service providers was contaminated with MRSA -- ask your doctor to swab his scope with alcohol.

* De-germ the gym. Use a disinfectant wipe to swab the handlebars of equipment, and drape a clean towel over shared yoga mats and sauna and locker room benches.

* Don’t share. You’re at increased risk of MRSA if you share razors, soap, towels, or other personal items.

* Be proactive. If you have to take an antibiotic, take a probiotic at the same time to build up the healthy bacteria in your gut.

The Swine Flu outbreak, according to Dr. Blaylock's figures, eventually affected 4,910 Mexican citizens and resulted in 85 deaths. Once the flu spread to the U.S. -- due to air travel and the failure of health officials to control travel from Mexico -- it caused primarily mild cases of flu-like illness. Now the virus has been spread worldwide.

Contrary to predictions of a massive amount of deaths and the WHO's manipulations making it possible for them to call it a pandemic, the virus has remained relatively mild, as happens each year with flu epidemics. There have been 311 deaths worldwide out of 70,893 cases diagnosed. The U.S. has had 27,717 cases that have resulted in 127 deaths. It's sad that people have died from this virus, but such low numbers do not come close to being pandemic and should not be the basis of implementing egregiously draconian government policies.

As noted by Dr. Blaylock, it's helpful to recall that the Centers for Disease Control, with the collusion of the media, constantly tells us that 36,000 people die from the flu each year, a figure that has been shown to be a lie. With the Swine flu, we're talking about a little over 300 deaths for the entire world. It's also interesting to note that the WHO said that the H1N1 flu pandemic is moving around the globe at an 'unprecedented' speed but stopped giving figures on numbers affected.

Hi Robin,

You mentioned to take healthy bacteria. I have Non-fat yogurt every night for dessert. I love it. It has healthy bacteria.

Everyone has the jitters over the so-called swine flu pandemic (recently declared by the WHO, a U.N./pharmaceutical-dominated organization). Named H1N1, this virus, according to a virologist quoted in Science magazine, is composed of an unbelievable array of genes from a number of sources. Virologists are also saying that this is the most unusual flu virus they have ever seen. It kills and seriously sickens the young but is a mild disease in the elderly, just the opposite of all other forms of flu virus.

For a pandemic, it has killed fewer people worldwide than any pandemic in history. Remember, the CDC claims that 36,000 people die every year from ordinary flu in the United States alone, while this flu has killed only 429 people worldwide — more people died from snakebites. Very few infections or deaths have occurred in the sunny Southeast — most are in the northern latitude states. Australia has had over 2,000 cases of this flu with only one death, which indicates this is an incredibly weak virus.

Because of the disappointing initial effects of this virus (remember they were preparing us for a 1918-style flu death event), experts now say that we can expect the big event when winter hits. And, surprise of all surprises, the vaccine manufacturer Novartis announced that it has a swine flu vaccine all ready for the occasion and that it will not give it away to poor countries — they must pay up. All we need now is for President Barack Obama to declare that everyone will be forcibly vaccinated.

Hi Robin,

I like the way they are handling it in Europe. I found out from people on the forum who live there. They say to stay at home and to treat it like a regular flu virus. Then, if the coughing starts, they are to go to the doctor.

I hope the vaccination is not forced upon us. They have not really tested it. We might get the flu from the vaccine itself. I am not so sure I want it anyway.

My Mom was in Mexico durring the breakout of h1n1 she came home with something and got me very sick. I had diareah for 3 weeks and was throwing up. It was no joke. I had to go to the hospital. My son and I are getting 2 flu shots this year.

Hi stilldancing, the H1N1 flu is not funny for anyone. Some people are getting light cases of it. I am sorry that you had to go to the hospital. You had a severe case. I am glad you are still with us.

In our county, one person got it and stayed home. Her husband got her to the hospital just in the knick of time. She almost died. The doctor's pulled her through it.

I am afraid to get the tamiflu shot because it has not been tested. Something like that should be tested first so people do not get the flu from the shot itself. Plus, one of the side effects is it can cause seizures. Ruth

well , Roche is minting millions from tamiflu. i wouldn't be surprised if there's some pharmaceutical conspiracy at work here which creates a medusa for perseus to be of use. tamiflu has been around for the last 3 years and no one used it because no one took the regular flu seriously (yes , it works on that too). Idiots here sneeze once and hurry to hospital to get tamiflu. the WHO has made an impossible recommendation that tamiflu be administered in the first 2 days of infection to be of use , but the first two days feel like having a cold. It is currently the time of monsoons in india , with torrential rain every other day . just try and imagine how many people have a cold here. not to mention that i live in a city of 14 million people . the media fright is increasing the number of people who run to hospital for tamiflu when they should be at home with chicken soup and a hot bath. So far 14-20 people have died of swine flu in india. to put that into perspective , 4000-12000 people die each year during the monsoons from mosquito related illnesses like malaria and dengue fever. INstead of promoting bug spray they promote tamiflu. The right advice is stay at home and do the usual things you do for the flu . You should go to hospital if you develop sudden/severe breathlessness , fever and cough (and even then it's more likely to be pneumonia).
I do appreciate that swine flu affects people differently , but until we get the facilities to test every one there is NO WAY current health facilities can handle the load.

So far, they have said that they will not have the time to test for the tamiflu vaccinations. I, for one, will not take an untested vaccine. :agree: with you. What you have recommended is what they are doing in Europe.

The scientist who made headlines in May by positing a laboratory origin for the swine flu that has swept the world will defend his theory in the scientific literature, Peter's New York has learned.

Dr. Adrian Gibbs, a Canberra, Australia-based virologist with more than 200 scientific publications to his credit, said that over the weekend he submitted his latest work on the swine flu to a prominent scientific journal, and is awaiting a response.

Gibbs, 75, was part of a team that developed the antiviral drug Tamiflu.

Back in April, when the first cases of swine flu were diagnosed in Mexico, Gibbs examined the genetic structure of the virus that had been posted on a public database. His analysis led him to speculate that the virus may have been the result of a laboratory error. He contacted the Geneva, Switzerland-based World Health Organization with his conjecture, and scientists there scrutinized his findings, concluding, however, that the virus was most likely a product of nature.

In a series of email exchanges with Peter's New York, Gibbs said he was not satisfied with the WHO's critique, indicating that the basis for it was ambiguous.

Apparently the new vaccine they are mass producing is using an adjuvant that has been implicated in "Gulf War Syndrome":
...
Novartis, the second contender, also has an agreement with WHO for a pandemic vaccine. Novartis appears to have won the contract, since their vaccine is near completion. What is terrifying is that these pandemic vaccines contain ingredients, called immune adjuvants that a number of studies have shown cause devastating autoimmune disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and lupus.

Animal studies using this adjuvant have found them to be deadly. A study using 14 guinea pigs found that when they were injected with the special adjuvant, only one animal survived. A repeat of the study found the same deadly outcome.

So, what is this deadly ingredient? It is called squalene, a type of oil. The Chiron company, maker of the deadly anthrax vaccine, makes an adjuvant called MF-59 which contains an ingredient of serious concern--squalene. A number of studies have shown that squalene can trigger all of the above-mentioned autoimmune diseases when injected.

The MF-59 adjuvant has been used in several vaccines. These vaccines, including tetanus and diphtheria, are the same vaccines frequently associated with adverse reactions.

I reviewed a number of studies on this adjuvant and found something quite interesting. Several studies done on human test subjects found MF-59 to be a very safe immune adjuvant. But when I checked to see who did these studies, I found—to no surprise—that they were done by the Novartis Pharmaceutical Company and Chiron Pharmaceutical Company, which have merged. They were all published in “prestigious” medical journals. Also, to no surprise, a great number of studies done by independent laboratories and research institutions all found a strong link between MF-59 and autoimmune diseases.

Squalene in vaccines has been strongly linked to the Gulf War Syndrome. On August 1991, Anthony Principi, Secretary of Veterans Affairs admitted that soldiers vaccinated with the anthrax vaccine from 1990 to 1991 had an increased risk of 200 percent in developing the deadly disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also called Lou Gehrig’s disease. The soldiers also suffered from a number of debilitating and life-shortening diseases, such as polyarteritis nodosa, multiple sclerosis (MS), lupus, transverse myelitis (a neurological disorder caused by inflammation of the spinal cord), endocarditis (inflammation of the heart’s inner lining), optic neuritis with blindness and glomerulonephritis (a type of kidney disease).

Because squalene, the main ingredient in MF-59, can induce hyperimmune responses and induce autoimmunity, a real danger exists for prolonged activation of the brain’s immune cells, the microglia. This type of prolonged activation has been strongly associated with such diseases as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, ALS and possibly vaccine-related encephalitis. It has been shown that activation of the systemic immune system, as occurs with vaccination, rapidly activates the brain’s microglia at the same time, and this brain inflammation can persist for long periods.

What most people do not know, even the doctors who recommend the vaccines, is that most studies by pharmaceutical companies observe the patients for only one to two weeks following vaccination—these types of reactions may take months or even years to manifest.

This has been my silent theory for months now. Glad to see that it is considered by others. I also believe that the Pharma companies are backing the HR bill so that they will have the Govt. support in making this vaccine available to the masses.

I am glad to have all of this information. It makes my decision of not taking the vacinne easier. I appreciate the information that you have given us. We are learning more about what diseases we can get that can kill us. Especially, what happened to the guinea pigs. Squalene is a killer.

...Deal with Drug Makers

"The irony about the deal, the thing that is so stunning, was this was the thing that ... criticized about the... prescription drug plan. It was the example of selling out to the drug companies," said Bob Borosage, co-director of Campaign For America's Future. "It was a pure lobby effort.... It is just unacceptable. [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi has fortunately stated that she is not bound by any deals that are cut that were made with the White House. And this will be a test."

My good friend's little 3-year-old daughter was just diagnosed with H1N1 yesterday. It started with a sudden onset 103 degree fever. But I talked to her today and she hasn't needed anything to lower her temp since last night and she's already running around like there's nothing wrong. She's healthy, and, I think like most healthy people, will fight it off just fine!

I wish I had taken notes on the number of times I had the flu as a child. The only time it got really bad was when I was a teen and I had lousy eating habits, and a doctor thought it was smart to keep me on antibiotics for two years straight.

Can we just please get the information out about how to improve the immune system?

I know for myself , I have to get the shot because if I get sick I have so many seizures. The Vimpat has helped. But I will be doing a lot of public speaking this year and being around a lot of teens. I'm protecting myself and my son.
