The way my family handled problems: they told us children that if we did not want it known, do not do it in the first place.

Tiger Woods has broken every rule in the book for being a rich person. Like this morning a child called 911 for his grand mother. He never cared enough to call 911 to go visit her. GatorAde has pulled their sponsorship and so will the others, now. The news is calling it The Soap Opera of Tiger Woods.

Soon, he will be kicked out of the PGA.

It is always so sad to see someone that you have admired... fail. Doubt we will ever know why, but I do hope he stays secluded for the near future. The embers will eventually fade, and another scandal will appear.

I am sorry it is bringing up a lot of mixed emotions for so many.

Hi Robin,

It is so sad. The problem is: we will know why. The media is staying on his trail. I have always respected and admired Tiger for his golf career. He is so great at golf.

What Tiger Woods needs to do is to go out and play golf. That is what everyone admires and respects him for. The longer he stays away from golf, the worse it is going to be. I honestly still believe that he has epilepsy. He is on medicine, the news says. I wonder what medications he is on an why? I wrote an e-mail to Tiger Woods through his official website, telling him that he could be a great advocate for epilepsy like Amy Lee if he has it. I also added that he could be a great advocate for epilepsy if he does not have it. I used positive feedback. He might really be sick. If that is the case, then the family should tell the media what is wrong with him.

Everyone is speculating about facts that we do not have. The only fact we have is that he cheated on his wife and the car accident.

Ruth you related to the Bell's from Scotland, or any Rogers?

I am no Tiger but I am advocating for epilepsy

I do not know who I am related to exactly in Scotland. I can not give you a definite answer. I know the Dollar family is still there. I am sorry that is all I know.

no need to be sorry. I understand from my grandmother that we come from a prominant family. I believe it was Rogerstown Pa. was founded by a relative and one of the first professors in my family tree.

Tiger now has something in common with my father..
Can't keep it in his pants. How many kids does Tiger have? I have no tolerance for infedility myself. As my mom caught my father at his mistress's house when I was in the womb. I will always have deep resentment for my father not giving me a chance to live with the family. He broke the my home before I even got there. This I will never forgive.

I can't imagine what that is like for you Matchu. My mom chose to stay with her cheating husband. I have at least one half brother that I know about. After decades of watching my mother's heartbreak, I've now had to forgive him for the sake of family harmony. That's not easy, especially since I can see that if he weren't so closely watched, he'd do it all over again. Some people never learn.

I'm of the mindset that if you can't be faithful, don't get married. We live in an era where you actually can make that choice.

I had always had it in my mind that somehow it must have been my mothers fault. She finally had enough and sat me down one day and told me what happened. She did want to stay married with my father after catching him. Not the first time either. I have three older brothers as well and my father wanted to end the marriage because he was in love with the other woman. One of my older brothers is a womanizer as well, and it saddens me, but I do rejoice in the fact my mom never let me live with my father so I didn't to view him as a mentor or look up to him. Although as his child that is all I wanted to do, but could not bring myself to do it.

MEDICATIONS PRSCRIBED FOR TIGER WOODS CAN CAUSE CONFUSION

Ambien is a sedative used for insonmia. The main ingredient, Zolpidem, affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause sleep problems.

Vicodin is a pain reliever containing a combination of acetaminophen and hydrocone, the latter is a pain reliever.

In rare cases Ambien also can cause amnesia and parasomnia, which are disruptive sleep-related disorders that include sleep-walking and even sleep-driving.

"You may have someone who has a need for both, perhaps someone with severe somnia and a sprained wrist."

"My admonition would be, don't get behind the wheel."

This is what caused the car accident.

*BIG HUG* Were you able to find another man to look up to?

Your mom sounds like a great woman. I love my mom to pieces, and she's a strong woman too, but she lacked a certain self-confidence, a lot of that due to my father's many indescretions and other disrespectful behaviour.

It's definitely positive you didn't have him as a mentor. Mind you, my brother would never cheat -- even if he had a written guaranteed that Anglina Jolie would put out just for him. He seems to have been blissfully unaware of what went on at home. I have no idea how that happened, the lucky duck. Methinks denial was in the works.

For many years I actually tried to get my mom to leave, but it didn't work. When it came down to the last (fourth or fifth) time my father got caught, he strung along the other woman, just in case we couldn't find it in our hearts to forgive him. What a class act. My father has issues.

TIGER WOODS
updated December 3, 2009

With a combination of power, touch and tenacious resolve, Tiger Woods has become one of the most dominating golfers ever, transforming the sport along the way. His astonishing success has even placed him on people's short list of greatest American athletes, alongsid Babe Ruth and Michael Jordan.

Woods has captured many of professional golf's records. He is in close pursuit of many of the rest, including Jack Nicklaus's 18 major tournament victories, the most prestigious record of them all. He leads the sport's world rankings, a result of winning more than 1/4 of the PGA Tour Tournaments that he's entered, a figure unrivaled in modern times.

As a toddler, he sank a putt on "the Mike Douglas" television show. He won 3 straight U.S. Junior Amateur titles and then 3 straight U.S. Amatur titles, both records.

Woods turned professional in 1996. A year later, at 21, he became the youngest winner of the Masters. In 2000 at 24, he became the youngest golfer to have won all 4 major tournaments.

This is his early career.

Truth be told, I have step father, but as a child pushed him away. I was a child and did not know the father that cared was right here with me, but I wanted my natural father to like, love me. I am sure this is nothing new. I did not take the opportunity to learn from the father that was there for me. It is a tricky situation to say the least and confusion for a young child.

Matchu, I am glad that you had a father that cared for you you, even if you did not know it. That still had an effect on how well you have turned out. Have you talked to your grandmother about how you feel. You are very close to her and she will understand how you felt.

Tiger Woods had a father who cared for him. He was devasted when he died. But, with all of the publicity, how will his children feel about him?

Definitely tricky and confusing :( As Ruth said, even if you didn't actively learn from him, even his presence will have influenced you for the better.

two things to know:

First, Lee Elder broke the black color barrier in the PGA much earlier than Tiger. He played in the Masters in 1975. Please see the following link:

Lee Elder

African American Golf Professionals

AfroGolf.com

Lee Elder

"First African American in several categories."

Lee Elder broke the color barrier at Augusta as the first African American to play the Master's in 1975.

Lee Elder was present during "Tiger Wood's" historic victory in 1997. Lee Elder has combined for 12 victories on the PGA and Senior Tours, earning more than $1 million on each tour. Lee Elder earned his first winner's check in 1974.

Lee Elder became involved with golf at 9 years old. Golf provided a means to put food on the table.

He was also the First African American to play on the Ryder Cup Team in 1979.

He is the top 31st on the all-time money list

Thank you Meetz for the information. I did not know that before.

I agree that it is a wonderful benefit that golfers support the cause of Epilepsy Services.
I do doubt that this is why Tiger Woods lives in Florida. Many people live in that state and they do not have Epilepsy.

There is simply no indication that he has ever had a seizure.

I didn't

get a chance to. When I originally clicked on it, I was tired, and wanted to read it, but the link didn't work, so I just looked up the link to double check it, and then I fixed it and went to bed.

Gotta go! Time to teach the kids! :)
