To be blunt; I am a "procrastinator" being so used to
these T/C's, having had one earlier this week - where at first
happening so quickly where I smelled electrical burning, then
felt the rising and then a sharp right turn on my head neck and
*Bam* - to the floor (well - partially hitting the bed and floor),
late afternoon.
By the time I came out of it in a woozy, dazed, and confused
state; in extreme pain - not the first time my hip had been
knocked out of the socket, which I popped that back in place;
but also had to first realign my knee back in place which was
ballooned up, and turning my ankle back in place. Normally, I
do not break bones; being of big bone-frame structure. Sprains,
strains, bruises, pulled muscles, etc; are all familiar grounds
with me. With my neck and head being stiff as a board and
back hurting - basically, my entire muscles ached - but none
other than my leg itself. Sure there were cuts borne within
here and there, but nothing major that I could not treat myself
and keep an eye on and make a report to the Neuro. (Since my
Neuro's appointment had been rescheduled of all irony to May
12th from April 28th.)
With Ice/Heat pack, keeping it elevated, Tylenol, staying off of
the leg, and so on;nthe usual procedures which again are familiar
territory with my old "boyfriends"; Ace Bandage and Ben Gay
coming in handy. Unfortunately, on the pain scale of 1-10, I was mainly at
an 8, with the exceptions of my foot/ankle which was running at a
12-14 (mind you, that exceeds the 10 range), for I could not bear
any weight at all.
Even when I tried, knowing walking around, light exercise will get things moving;
but it had reached to the point by Tuesday night ---> THIS IS NOT WORKING!
I had instructed my son to wake me up so I may call my PCP; but apparently,
he felt so bad for me and opt not to wake me up
seeing I had been asleep and he felt I must had been improving
until the time was 5:15 PM! Arrgghh! I was kind of peeved, already
sleep deprived because of the pain factor here - I guess, the
exhaustion did me in.
Moreover, I had been trying to eat, but it was too difficult - it's
amazing how pain keeps you from eating, even when you are hungry.
For by this time on Wednesday early evening, it had grown to a
pain factor of 16 on the scale of 1-10 where I was about to black-out,
getting dizzy, seeing what is almost like a double (more like a
image and a shadow) and becoming so frustrated where I could
not even think straight!
Having phoned my mom, and at this point my whole family
was here - then my PCP was summoned on the phone - told
him all that went on; having had notified the Neurologist's office
(twice with the updates) - He had already seemed to know I've
already done all I could have possibility done on my own. Even
the meds my mom bought over would not have done anything - He wanted
X-Rays and whatever the ER felt was necessary from that
standpoint and then to get back with him in the office tomorrow
(Today). I will be having to make an appointment with him Friday
as my mom will be out of town today.
*sigh*
Bad news - I am in an half cast - my ankle and foot is in
one dire mess!

They had to give me Narcotics, but with tendons and ligaments
torn, ripped, etc; and it does appear that the muscles might
be - and as for the fractures, it is just too early to tell - they
just cannot rule out any fractures at this point at all .. too early to
tell, since it is so swollen.
And if that isn't insulting enough ...
The Nurses actually confronted to me about the seizures - I
thought they were in reference to the one earlier, WRONG!
Apparently, I had several in the ER and never knew it and
they monitored that one very closely and it was witnessed.
And how come I didn't know about this? When I asked a Nurse
about it, I'm being told "Not to worry about it, they've got it
under control" (???) - I felt fine! Honest!
I almost argued with one of them because I thought they
were getting mixed up here as why I was in there - but nope,
I really did have seizures, for even the ER Physician was
reviewing the Medical Records and could see that Lamictal
(that was working so wonderfully with me) allergy. He asked
me what the Neurologist was going to do now?
(I have no idea - honestly)
When given the discharge papers, the Triage Nurse went
over with this with my mom and I, as my mom is the one
who's going to have to drive me around anyway - normally
it would have just have had the Injuries on the Ankle/ Foot;
but this one was multiple pages, including the Seizures
too - the one in the ER with even further specific instructions.
I am not to be left alone at all, not until they get my anti-
epileptic drugs balanced out.
*sigh* Lammy was working so wonderfully - I almost "hate"
my body for the waynit reacts to some of those meds that
had worked so well to a point where it decided to go up against it!
::: sulks :::
Enough of my rambling and trying to be "humorous" in spite of
my pain here, waiting patiently for the narcotic painkiller to
kick in ... (and I wonder if it's a place-bo because it's still not
kicked in since having taken it)
