Hi I've been suffering from jerks for many years now. It's bad tonight and it's making me angry ! I find sleeping pills useless. Actually it can be quite nice in the early hours, " far from the madding crowd " ,in a city of peace. I haven't slept in a bed for months as this exacerbates the problem. What works for me - when I'm tired - is to sit in a comfortable chair with my feet up. Often I will not place my head squarely on the back of the chair, but about 2 inches off it. Sleep is usually about 3am, but it looks as if it's gonna be a 6am night tonight - Isn't life wonderful ! PS The birds are singing !

Thought for the day ;

Things turn out best, for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.

Did you ever wonder whether those myoclonic jerks are not myoclonic jerks but AED side effects? I'm just wondering about that because of the way your seating/sleeping position helps. I wish I could remember the medication I was on, but at one stage, I was having these same symptoms and, after an EMG, my neuro told me they were a medication side effect, and not a part of my epilepsy.

Hi Kirsten, thanks for your reply. Yes, I have considered the medication may be to blame, but I'm afraid my pharmacy regulates the epilepsy and a mental condition.Best Wishes Goldwelll

Goldwell, I'm not sure if I'm understanding you. Are you telling me that you receive treatment for your epilepsy from a pharmacist?
