Hey
That sounds like a general intense experience for you, no power or water for days is definitely rough. Here in Nigeria, though, going without electricity has almost become part of daily life. There are times we might go days, even weeks, without a stable power supply, and in more extreme cases, some areas go months. It’s reached a point where many of us are so used to it that we don’t see it as a “crisis” anymore, we just adapt.

Those who can afford it invest in backup generators or solar panels to keep things running. And for everyone else, power banks have become essential for keeping our devices charged during long outages. I find it interesting when I chat with people here who are thrown off by just a few days without power because, for us, this inconsistency is almost routine.

The situation can be challenging, but I guess, like anything, you just find ways to work around it.

The days aren't so bad (not sunny or hot, but okay)

Soon as the dark comes (it's getting dark around 5 PM now), the temp drops and it's freezing. We're talking minus 8 and stuff, so not a lot of fun

I woke up to snow today.

Sadly, it's not set to last all day, and sadly it's not settling, still it makes everything look beautiful.. just like narnia
Also it's raised my hopes of a white christmas. It's been a good few years since we had one. I remember our last one, the country came to a complete standstill

high of 0 degrees, and a low of minus 8

We also have snow today

Very cooold..

Winter storm watch for Thursday and Friday along with up to 2 inches of rain and 4- 8 inches of snow.
They are predicting tree limbs coming down and power lines also. I'm all set with extra water and
food in the house in case we do lose power.
Wishing all of you only the best and May God Bless You,

Sue

We FINALLY have some normal November weather!! This evening, we actually got the first snowfall of the season. Some areas could get 1-3".

Low of minus 4 today

Still got some snow as well.

I love how fresh it feels. It is cold, sure, but it also feels really fresh

Surprisingly, a lot of the snow that fell & accumulated today will melt in the next few days. It's predicted to be between 45 and 50 degrees a few days over the coming week. Getting sick of this rollercoaster weather.

While growing up, I lived in 2 places MUCH colder (and snowier) than the Chicago region. One was near Sioux Falls, South Dakota--after blizzards, you'd only be able to see the car's roof. The other was Superior, Wisconsin, across from Duluth. The amount of lake effect snow we would get was unbelievable. On top of that, wind chills of -50 degrees Fahrenheit also weren't rare

So we have storm bert coming in for the weekend and it's meant to bring rain ice and snow

Yet on the news today they were saying we were going to get some milder conditions

So we shall see.. today it is quite cold minus 2, and I have the heating on full

We got the winter storm on Thursday thru Friday and some areas got up to 8 inches of snow. It was
a heavy wet snow and some people lost power. Now I'm keeping alert for Thanksgiving we may be
getting his again with the same kind of a storm.

It 10 degrees here this evening with a windchill of 12 below. We are under a winter weather advisory until 4 am Sunday morning
for up to 4 more inches of snow and we got 6 inches already. Wishing all of you only the best and May God Bless You,

Sue

This morning the temperature here was 15 degrees Fahrenheit, and the wind chill was close to 0. Unfortunately, it will be getting warmer again. I just wish that once it gets cold, these extreme temperature swings would end.

I woke up to snow (minus 8)

It's cleared away now but it's still cold

Summer here in Australia
It looks sunny but radio said top of 23c ( 73.4f)

That's actually cooler for summer but I don't mind as I like cool weather

I don't know.

I have my windows closed and curtains closed because today and tomorrow are the worst days of the year for me. no company, no gifts, no cards, no nothing

I just want to curl up and sleep

It's really cold here in the Chicago area. Yesterday, it was only 12 degrees Fahrenheit. The next 3 will have high in the single digits, & lows below zero. The actual temperature was -25 was where I lived in up in Wisconsin yesterday morning, with a wind chill of -45!

It's bitter cold here in Central NY at 9 degrees and Tuesday and Wednesday will be as low as 25 below 0.
