It FINALLY looks like we'll have a REAL winter. The snow we had last week (9.5 inches where I live) isn't going anywhere, as temps have remained pretty cold. We even got another inch and a half the next day. It will also be becoming MUCH colder--tonight it will be near or below zero, & tomorrow the high temperature is less than 20 degrees.

First snow for us. The news make such a big deal out of 2” of snow 🙄
Haha yeah, you should see what happens when it snows here! It's like the city shuts down. People start calling in sick for work, schools shut down for snow days... Everyone gets scared as soon as anything sticks, and nobody knows how to drive, despite it being legally required to have snow tires to travel on most highways. I call it the yearly "snow-pocalypse". Then the municipalities just dump huge amounts of salt everywhere to try to melt it, since they don't know how to manage snow properly.

I'm ALWAYS telling my kids that they NEVER saw a REAL winter. Even when I had to get the younger one from school (about 12 years ago) & was talking about weather w/other parents, they agreed that the schools are too quick to close. They recalled how schools would remain open in FAR COLDER/SNOWIER weather when we were growing up.

I grew up in the Canadian prairies, and we never had a snow day or school cancelled due to weather. If it got especially cold or there was a snow storm expected, the principal would just make an announcement telling all the students to make sure we "bundle up" because it was going to get cold out there! haha

Growing up in the 1970's I lived for a few years in Brookings, SD--60 miles north of Sioux Falls. I recall some blizzards when you could only see the roof of the car. Then my family moved to a place that was both colder & snowier--near Duluth, to Superior, WI. My parents moved our family to the Chicago area in the early 1980's, and it WOULD get colder than it does now at that time.

It's in the upper 40's today and sunny but later on the winds will be picking up with gusts up to 50 mph
right through Saturday and then the snow will be coming back also. I just hope we don't lose power.

I assume that rs pretty cold

I had to google d it because us Aussies woek on Celsius not farenheight

Overhere low 40s is high, I don't g think we'd ever to gotten to high 40s

50 and rain today. We might have a few days of frozen ponds. With no snow on them. Perfect for ice skating 😁

I'm REALLY annoyed by this 'roller coaster" weather we've started having in late fall/winter. Early December was COLD--well below freezing/average, & we received A LOT of snow. THIS week it will be in the mid- to upper 40's! Nearly ALL of the snow has melted.
What I TRULY hate is it that it may get "warm" in the day, but at night the temps drop below freezing, so any place where there is melted snow becomes VERY icy.

We got hit good in NY on Friday we are now a state of emergency due to all the ice and snow we got.

80 degrees during the days with nights in the 50s. the past week. I’ve been wearing my shorts and sandals…never fully got into the Christmas spirit. lol.

I was in the Caribbean earlier in the week, and Dallas is the same exact temperature. Boo.

Cathy
I've never understood farenheight weather lol
Im assuming its like double Celsius

Were in the 1st month of summer, I havent been keeping eye on actual temperature but its been warm

Im sure i mentioned before I hate summer.
Usually it messes with my seizures but hasn't been too bad thus year.
Probably because I don't walk as much as I did.

If I do its Usually with someone

Talk about weather whiplash! On Sunday, it was nearly 60 degrees, slightly foggy, & rainy. A cold front went through late say/overnight--When I awoke Monday morning, it was 14 degrees, windchills were between -5 & 0, & snow was blowing all over!
It is still cold--today it will only be around 22 degrees. In fact, the rest of week will be cold.

Well today Dec. 30th it is bitter cold here in central NY and many businesses are shut for today because the winds
have been blowing up to 50 mph and some areas are getting up to 1-2 ft. of snow.

We got a decent amount of snow, with extra cold weather coming.
Hopefully get some cross country skiing in!!

It was 4 degrees here on Tuesday and now they are predicting an even colder weekend along with a lot of snow.

It has been cold for the past few days & will be MUCH colder by the end of the week. Friday's expected HIGH temperature is 0 degrees Fahrenheit, w/wind chills of -30 to -40. A person could have frostbite in under 5 minutes!

update: 20-30 below this weekend with 8.4 inches of snow. I sure hope we don't get the snow because
that will means shoveling the driveway in that bitter cold.
