There is a study in Arkansas, that's published in the journal Molecular Psychiatry that found a group of kids with Autism who were treated with folinic acid showed significant improvements in verbal communication, receptive and expressive language, attention and the stereotype Autism traits . One third of the kids did show improvements.

What Andrew says in response to the folinic acid applies to me. A spinal tap performed a couple of years ago showed I was low in a few neurotransmitters, one of them being related to folinic acid. I take a folinic acid medication, a form that is able to cross the blood-brain barrier. Too much folinic acid, though, can cause problems as well therefore a spinal tap is really the only way to determine if neurotransmitters in the brain (where seizures come from, as we all know) are too low or too high; blood tests cannot determine this because blood serum levels of neurotransmitters does not relate very closely to brain levels (my blood of 3 of 4 of these neurotransmitters was normal!).

We are truly what we eat. The food we consume can cause inflammation of the gut and brain. The food we eat can also naturally reduce brain and gut inflammation. Autism, arthritis, epilepsy, colitis, or other disorders are increasingly linked to reactions to inflammtaion. A dietary approach to treating inflammatory disorders is a hot topic now.

We can do something about inflammation with a trip to the grocery store and the kitchen. We can eat well choosing foods that can reduce it.
Pinto beans are a staple in my kitchen. One of the articles linke below concerns oats. It is really easy to make flour from oats and use it in making bread. Anyone have recipes to share using oats or pintos?

The first link below is focuses on intestinal inflammation and seizues (specifically in Ulcerative colitis),, the second on the brain, the other two on the gut.

Music Therapy for Epilepsy and Autism

Music Therapy for Autism and Epilepsy

No doubt a lot of us have figured out how music can help, or sometimes trigger seizures and have positive effects on people dealing with autism also. I'm going to look up more of the information on it, but am posting this two article links that turned up tonight.

"He the English young man" Edward Snowden is American.

"who evidently better with computers and email than americas best.
Your country got exitle order on him." There is no exhile order on him we want him back.

"words America used he dangerous when he started hacking y government computers he was school boy" Edward Snowden worked for the US government, the CIA and NSA and while employed at these agencies he stole information that he had access to, no hacking required.

"his family very distressed because they say America don't buy into autism."
His family should be distressed. He is guilty of espionage and theft of government property. I can find no evidence he has autism and if he does he is a very high functioning individual with autism and he knows right from wrong.

Seems he could have savant level abilities.:twocents:

I have been attending an interesting symposium in Oz that aims to rethink Autism, one of the keynote speaker is some one that some of you may be familiar with?

Chris Ulmer
he is lovingly referred to as Mr Chris, began his career as a special education teacher in Jacksonville Florida.
After spending 3yrs with the same students he observed a disconnect between his pupils and society. The intelligence and humour displayed by his students was not typically appreciated by those without the special needs experience.

For this reason, Mr Chris started Special Books by Special Kids(SPBSK), a multi-media non-profit that is now spearheading worldwide acceptance movement. Chris dedicates his time traveling around the world and teaching others about neurodiversity and interviewing individuals to be featured on SBSK.

I'm excited when I meet these awesome people as they are opening up to provode a better life for those impacted with those on the spectrum.

He does have an IQ above 145, genius level thought processes mixed with acquired skills in computer technologies could seem like savant level abilities to the layperson.
