    Driving?

I read some research paper from Florida, I think, that said that 25% of all people who had lost their drivers license due to seizures still drive. Be as honest as you feel you can (but don't go overboard! Some of us might not want to be too honest, including me!) would you drive without a license?

What's the process w/ driving and epilepsy

Whenever I filled out an application for a drivers license, I would always check "no" when asked if I have ever had a seizure. Never really thought about it too much. Now after much talking w/ my brother he made me realize that if I were ever get into an accident and God forbid I killed someone...

When you say seizure free, what do you mean????

Are you guys usually talking about free from T/C's, or are we considering any and all partials as well. I know this may seem like a strange question, but I wanted to know what you guys thought. i still have 3-20 partials a day, but no t/c's since 6-4. I am wondering when my "3 months of seizure...

Is it safe to drive now?

Hi, I have posted a few topics on here but just a quick update for the past 3 months my husband has been having "episodes" which can last from 1 min to 15 min and can have up to 15 a day. During this time he blanks out and fiddles with whatever is to hand and can't talk but knows what it is...

A question about a suspended license

I had my driver's license suspended on October 2nd and I just got a notice from the DMV about a phone interview coming up on May 7th. Has anyone on this forum ever gone through one of these phone interviews as a step to get their license back? What kinds of questions do they ask in these phone...

    Driving with Epilepsy

I am three months seizure free, but I am going to go to the DMV and get my license this weekend, even though you must check off a box that says you are six months seizure free. What kind of problems could arise from this? I'm warned I can get in trouble and/or sued, but I am under the...

    I am so angry still

 Ok yesterday my sister since she is off work this week took me to the DMV to get a photo ID, I don't think I will ever be able to get a drivers license again because even after surgery the seizures are still with me. Well, she called them for me on Thursday to ask what I would need to...

    Driving And Epilepsy?

Okay, I am sooo baffled by this. I have seen many many many posts where people (like one where someone recently mentioned they had a seizure while driving and than a few weeks later had a seizure at work) have seizures yet continue to drive. The law in my state (Indiana) is that people who have...

    Epilepsy and Driving

So what does the law say where you live in regards to getting a licence to drive ? I believe it's down to each State's own law (don't quote me on this) ? Over here, we have to go a full year without having a seizure before you can apply for a licence, which generally only lasts for a few years...

Do you think driving laws are fair with regards to epilepsy?

I know most everyone hates losing their freedom and legal driving privileges, but are driving laws restricting folks who have had a seizure a necessary evil?

    Driving with epilepsy

I've had EP since 1979, only had ONE (1) grande-mal seizure since then, all my EEG's showed seizure activity in my lower left tempral lobe. In in Dec.2002, I pulled in to a Wal-Mart parkinglot and just as I pulled in to a parking spot, Someone must have been looking out for me because I just...

Segway transporters - no drivers license required

One of the most difficult aspects to having Epilepsy is the lack of freedom that comes with not being allowed to drive. Most states require at least six months without a seizure in order to procure a valid driver's license (you can check your state's law here). Motorcycles and scooters also...
